At a dinner party for Ffion and her friends, he fixates on Jonas, whose engagement recently ended. When Jonas jokes about masturbating to re-dos of past sex, the guests react negatively, but Liam only digs deeper. He invites Jonas home, then exaggerates remembering how late it is to force Jonas out. Later, he interrogates Ffion about her time with Jonas in Marrakesh; she claims a one-month relationship, but Liam produces a memory where she said it lasted a week. The conflict escalates when Ffion references Liam's past obsession with another man named Dan. They reconcile and have sex while watching memories of their past encounters, yet Liam immediately returns to drinking and re-watching the dinner party footage.

The narrative intensifies when Liam drives drunk to Jonas's house, ignoring car warnings that his insurance is invalid due to intoxication. There, he finds Jonas with Hallam, a guest from the dinner who apparently spent the night. Liam drinks more while asking passive-aggressive questions about whether the lamp came from Marrakesh or if Jonas masturbates to pictures of Ffion. He plays these off as jokes, but the tension snaps into a physical fight. Liam wakes in his crashed car, having driven into a tree. Replaying his memories, he realizes that during the fight, he made Jonas delete all recorded memories of Ffion while Hallam called the police. In a final confrontation at home, Liam spots Ffion's memory of Jonas in his bed. She lies repeatedly until he presses her to admit that after an argument about Dan, she had drunk sex with Jonas around the time Jody was conceived. Aggressively demanding she play the memory, she complies. Alone in an empty house later, Liam re-watches memories of Ffion and Jody before using a razor blade and tweezers to remove his grain, cutting the feed as he pulls it out.
